A Compliance Leader Who Keeps Kentucky Moving Forward

StepStone Family & Youth Services

Compliance and Quality Leader Chrissy Martin has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Louisville, KY. Recognized for her deep program knowledge and steady leadership across Kentucky’s foster care program, Chrissy exemplifies º£½ÇÉçÇø’s LEGACY value of Get Going, seen in the way she drives meaningful improvements with purpose and urgency — and never loses sight of the young people behind the work.

Chrissy has served in multiple roles within StepStone’s Kentucky program and has used that breadth of experience to build genuine trust with the staff she leads. She makes sure her team understands not just the what of compliance and quality, but the why — connecting daily practices to better outcomes for the youth they serve. She participates actively in statewide pilot initiatives, collaborates closely with the Regional Quality Manager and Treatment Director, and serves as a trainer for evidence-based programs designed to strengthen foster parents, management, and frontline staff.

That connection to purpose is personal for Chrissy. She recently drove a long distance to pick up a teenage client from detention — and somewhere along the way, the young man told her she should become a foster parent, because he believed she could make a difference for kids like him. He still checks in with her weekly.

Working with children who grow into adults and still want to keep in touch and tell you the difference you’ve made – that makes it all worthwhile. – Chrissy Martin

Her work has helped create a safer, more stable environment for the young people in Kentucky’s program, with fewer youth requiring discharge to higher levels of care because the systems she helped build are catching challenges earlier. Foster parents feel better equipped, staff feel more confident, and the program is stronger for the foundation she has laid.

Congratulations, Chrissy. The way you Get Going — into the details, into the work, and into the lives of the young people you serve — reflects a commitment that reaches far beyond any role description.

Work Smart. Do Good.
