Marlena Burkhead

Marlena Burkhead started Working Smart and Doing Good as a Nurse Practitioner with SHC Medical Partners in Hodgenville, KY in May 2021.
Marlena graduated with a doctorate in Nursing Practice from Western Kentucky University. She has been a Registered Nurse for nine years, and a Family Nurse Practitioner for three. Marlena says she loves 鈥渨orking with geriatric patients in long-term care where [she] can really get to know them and hear their life stories.鈥�
Marlena鈥檚 knowledge and guidance also helped with the opening of the COVID-19 unit at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home. Their Director of Nursing Sandy Froggett describes Marlena as 鈥渁 genuine, compassionate practitioner,鈥� adding that 鈥渟he is easy to collaborate with and a true asset.鈥�
Marlena believes it is important to 鈥減rovide a holistic approach to not only patients, but their families and communities.鈥� She is honored to work in a profession where she can make a difference in the lives of others on a daily basis.
