PharMerica Helps with Flu and COVID-19 Vaccines at New England鈥檚 Largest Agricultural Fair

For a second year, the and the State Granges of New England teamed up with and to offer vaccines for influenza and COVID-19 to people of all ages who attended the Big E.
In 2023, more than 3,500 vaccines were given during the two weeks of the Big E.
鈥淭he Big E is one of the country鈥檚 premier agricultural events, bringing together members of the local communities and drawing in crowds from across the country,鈥� said National Grange President Christine Hamp. 鈥淥ne of the guiding principles of the Grange is protecting the health and well-being of our communities. Vaccines are an important and effective tool in helping to prevent the spread of disease, so we鈥檙e thrilled to offer these to attendees free of charge.鈥�
鈥淲e were so pleased to be a part of the vaccine outreach at last year鈥檚 Big E and even happier to come back for a second year,鈥� said Michele Slafkosky, Executive Director of Families Fighting Flu and New Hampshire resident. 鈥淔or 20 years, we have been sharing the stories of our families who have been severely impacted by influenza. We are here to raise awareness of the important role that vaccination plays in keeping your family and our communities healthy.鈥�
鈥淎ccess is a huge barrier to vaccination across the country,鈥� said T.J. Griffin, Chief Clinical Officer at PharMerica. 鈥淚t鈥檚 critical that vaccinators meet people where they are, and with the thousands of people who come through the Big E鈥檚 gates each day comes a great opportunity to offer them vaccinations.鈥�
The recommends that people over the age of six months are vaccinated against聽Influenza聽and聽COVID-19聽ahead of the annual respiratory disease season.
